This weekend sees the 56th Scottish Ploughing Championships take to the fields near Kelso in the Scottish Borders.

Image shows shire horses and clydesdale hores' working the land, ploughing furrows in the field as would have been seen before mechanical tractors took over from traditional horsepower.

The man holding the plough is Martin Kerswell.
